Based in the UK and following the Theravadan Buddhist teachings of the Forest Sangha tradition, Kalyana Mitta is a blog to share reflections and personal experiences from my Buddhist practice.
In each post I explore the interface between Buddhist teachings, meditation techniques, scholarly works from the field of Buddhist Studies, and the practical application of them into our lives as lay Buddhists
The focus is on early Buddhist teachings, mainly Theravadan, and I put the ideas I write about to the test in my own investigations and experiments which I share with you in the spirit of learning and growing together on this path.
Kalyana Mitta means admirable friend, one who will help and support you through your practice. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to give teachings and meditation guidance to my spiritual friends, and I have benefitted immeasurably from the wonderful kalyana mittas in my life, so I take this opportunity to share some of my experiences with you in the hope that you too can have some share in the benefit of having a kalyana mitta. May these offerings help to guide and support you on your own path.
May you be well and happy!
